Tackling inequalities

Fill in our survey on whether your culture was respected at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/RBHculture

We have been given £15,000 by the Local Maternity System, one of our commissioners, to run a two-year project beginning the work of tackling inequalities in care.

Studies have shown that certain groups of people, such as Black and Asian women, those living in deprived areas, and others, are at greater risk of serious complications such as stillbirth, or maternal morbidity.

We want to tackle those issues and work to reach a point where no group of people has more risk than any other, where possible.

From July 2021, we will be increasing our outreach to those communities, to listen to your experiences of maternity care locally, and, with hospital staff, act on what you tell us to make positive changes.

You can get involved by:

  • Joining us as a parent rep for your community
  • Introducing us to your community leaders
  • Filling in and sharing our survey on whether your culture was respected during your care. We are running this survey jointly with Royal Berkshire Hospital Maternity.
